{"id":19160,"date":"2014-01-30T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2014-01-29T23:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jetline.pl\/for-a-pittance-or-what-spoils-the-image-of-outdoor-advertising-part-3\/"},"modified":"2014-01-30T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2014-01-29T23:00:00","slug":"for-a-pittance-or-what-spoils-the-image-of-outdoor-advertising-part-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jetline.pl\/en\/for-a-pittance-or-what-spoils-the-image-of-outdoor-advertising-part-3\/","title":{"rendered":"For a Pittance, or What Spoils the Image of Outdoor Advertising (Part 3)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>I open the mailbox; basically, apart from the power company and the gas company, no one sends me letters, but a pile of flyers spills out of the box.<br \/>\nNice, I'll take a look. <\/strong><strong>Everything on promotion, mostly premium, a random offer \u2013 sausage for PLN 8.99. <\/strong> <\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\">But I know I won't buy it \u2013 not because it's cheap; I have absolutely nothing against cheap things.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\">I won't buy it because I know that for 8.99, it's impossible to make good sausage.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\"><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The truth is, quality is linked to price.<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\">Meanwhile, in our country, price is the primary selection criterion. The public procurement law and public tenders cause significant damage in this regard. The effects are immediate: we're building highways cheaply, hurray!!!, they'll be ready for the EURO - hurray!!! \u2013 except they are neither built yet nor cheap after summing up the construction costs.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\">This plague also affects outdoor advertising.<br \/>\nI emphasize \u2013 of course, there's nothing wrong with someone wanting to pay as little as possible for an advertising medium. But economics has its rules; everything costs: obtaining permits to set up the medium, ground lease, bringing in electricity, construction of the structure, its repairs and maintenance, poster placement, electricity for poster illumination, poster crew, etc. <\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\">The effects are immediate \u2013 someone who buys too cheaply must expect that the seller saved on something.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\">Maybe they hired a cheaper poster crew, maybe they won't pay for electricity, won't do repairs \u2013 the exposure will be on a rusty structure, other advertisements will obscure the billboard, etc.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\">Examples:<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\">- large retail chain campaign in December 2013 \u2013 no medium is illuminated,<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\">- billboard in a town near Pozna\u0144 \u2013 exposure for a large company has been ongoing for over 7 years, but the problem is that for about 5 years, the billboard has been obscured by screens and is completely invisible from the road,<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: left;\">- a huge movie hit 5 months after its premiere -
