100 Photographs from the Warsaw Uprising in a Digital Exhibition

When you start exploring Warsaw from the perspective of a walker or cyclist, you first discover convenient shortcuts and road connections, and then you also see places that you wouldn't have a chance to see otherwise. You begin to get to know and understand them, connecting information about events and people.

Try to discover the history of Warsaw from August and September 1944 in this way.
On the occasion of the 76th anniversary of the Uprising, we have prepared an unusual outdoor exhibition. We titled it "Traces of the Warsaw Uprising".

It is an exhibition of over 100 uprising photographs, selected and prepared by the Warsaw Uprising Museum team. We placed them in spots that will be displayed on digital MORE screens in Warsaw from August 1 to October 2.
Each photo illustrates the history of the place or area where the screen is located. All have been precisely matched to locations in the capital 76 years ago. Each is displayed on a specific screen. Additionally, in the spots, we provide the distance between the screen and the place we are talking about. When we write "in this place" – exactly where you're standing, what you see in the photo happened here.

We have placed QR codes at the screens that will take you to the Warsaw Uprising Museum websites: to the Uprising timeline, Photo Library, and Oral History Archive.

Stop by the screens on Chmielna, Złota, Jana Pawła, Piwna, Andersa, Żytnia and in over 100 other places in Warsaw.
Look around and transport yourself momentarily to Warsaw from 76 years ago.

Additionally, we have prepared a spot informing about the traces of the Uprising that are still present in the city today. We prepared it in English, French, German, Russian, and Ukrainian.
