According to advertising industry experts participating in the DOOH MyLED survey, the most important factor to remember is reaching the largest possible number of people within the defined target audience.
This was confirmed by 78% of respondents. As an advertiser, you need to know where your audience is and choose the appropriate medium based on this. In the case of digital outdoor advertising, or DOOH, you can calculate the advertising reach using specific algorithms that estimate the audience for a given screen in a specific location throughout the day.
Another important element when planning a campaign is - according to 51% of respondents - the medium's reach. It's important to define the places and boundaries where your brand or product will communicate with the audience(s). Precise communication framework allows for more accurate targeting of potential customers. Advertisements appearing near POS are particularly valuable here - as is the case with DOOH, which enables content display at precisely planned locations and times.
Other important factors affecting advertising reception are - according to 58% of survey participants - audience interaction and - according to 47% of respondents - message creativity. DOOH can combine these two elements. The innovative capabilities of digital outdoor advertising enable direct and personalized contact with the audience, while the message format ensures the communication leaves a lasting impression. This was demonstrated in the campaign for Nutella, which created an interesting DOOH implementation where facial mapping technology was used to adapt message content to the viewer. New technologies allowed the advertiser to reach the audience in an original and personalized way, while original content and interesting creative spots increased product interest.
When creating an advertising campaign, remember about the message itself. Without interesting and intriguing creative work, the campaign may not achieve its intended goals.
