Art and Billboard. How Does Art Reach out to People?

Art and Billboard. How Does Art Reach out to People?

Can art and billboard meet?
Being an independent artist can be challenging, especially during a pandemic when art galleries and exhibitions are closed to the public. In such times, talents are confined to their homes instead of reaching out to audiences. How can we maintain contact with people in this situation, how can we safely reach out to them and meet new ones? Here's our proposal: through outdoor advertising! We believe that viewing art on billboards changes the perception of traditional OOH media. Art closer to people provides entertainment and inspiration for those who encounter it on city sidewalks and streets. Discover a way to create an art gallery open to everyone.

Nice Art

In Warsaw, it's not difficult to encounter art. Over 120 digital OOH displays in public spaces are showing spots encouraging people to stay at home and spend time with art. How? Among other ways, by reading about the people who create it. The campaign is accompanied by the hashtag #StayAtHome #ReadAboutArt. On city screens, you'll see portraits of outstanding painters: Olga Boznańska, Anna Bilińska-Bohdanowicz, Stanisław Wyspiański, and Jacek Malczewski from Poland's largest museums - the National Museum in Warsaw and the National Museum in Krakow. They personally encourage visiting the Nice Art portal, where over 1,000 articles about world and Polish art masterpieces await us. The content available on the portal is free and accessible to everyone. The articles are written by specialists: art historians, museum curators - in a very interesting and extremely accessible way.

The portal and its campaign promote educational content about art while responsibly addressing the current social challenge. At the same time, they encourage staying at home and using this time in a constructive and creative way.

Illustrator Artists and Their “Thank You”

Another campaign bringing audiences closer to art is created by Jet Line together with talented illustrators. We asked artists to create graphics with thanks to workers who are on the front lines in the fight against COVID-19. The campaign features: Ania Dusza, Bartosz Szymkiewicz, Nieładnie (Kamila Szcześniak), Julia Mirny, Katarzyna Fryza, Natka Wieczorek. You can see their works on over 120 DOOH screens in Warsaw.

There are situations when the need for good energy and inspiration is greater than ever before.
Although it might seem that immaterial matters would be far from what's so important now: health and safety, we see that bringing art to the street is necessary for all of us: both creators and their audiences. And it's a mutual benefit: combining art and OOH makes artists' works within reach.
We invite you, just look around!
