Beirut Snapshot - Photographic Chronicle from Beirut on MORE Screens
Important things are certainly happening in Poland and around the world.
We believe that our role is undoubtedly to inform and inspire appropriately. We've been doing this for a year on MORE screens, collaborating with brands, creators, bloggers, institutions, photographers, and social projects.
From Warsaw to Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, it's over 3,500 kilometers. Recently, it seemed to be a bit closer due to media coverage. In early August, a massive explosion occurred in the port of Beirut. 190 people died, and over 6,500 were injured.
We present to you "Beirut Snapshot". It's a series of chronicles from Beirut, produced by Outride.rs in collaboration with Lebanese photographer Carmen Yahchouchy. The project aims to tell the story of the financial and political crisis in Lebanon, 30 years after the end of the civil war.
On the Instagram of Outride.rs, a service with international journalism presenting social challenges, concerns, questions, and needs. Photographs from the destroyed and devastated city appeared. Consequently, they reached us from there.
Three months after the explosion in the port warehouses, photographs of Beirut appeared in 300 locations across Poland. We're displaying them on digital screens on the streets of Krakow, Tri-City, Poznań, Wrocław, Katowice, and Warsaw.
Meanwhile, we invite you to see the present-day Beirut in the photographic chronicles by Outriders and Carmen. Photographer Carmen Yahchouchy reported events for Reuters. Her works have been exhibited in Lebanon, Greece, Morocco, Portugal, and France. She is a member of Women Photograph and Magnum Foundation.
