Climate, City, Environment. Ecology and MORE.

Ecology on Screens

Ecology on screens is our tribute to June's environmental holiday. Among other things, on World Environment Day, you could watch the film "It's Okay to Panic" on YouTube. Did you watch it? Its protagonist is Professor Szymon Malinowski, a physicist, professor of Earth sciences, and director of the Institute of Geophysics of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
Professor Malinowski has been researching climate and educating for years, and is one of the co-founders of the Nauka o Klimacie (Science of Climate) portal.
World Environment Day, falling on June 5th, inspired us to prepare a series of environmental materials. We are broadcasting them on MORE screens until the end of June.

And why?

Because we deal with conveying information daily, connecting brands and their messages with people whom brands want to interest, inspire, or encourage. We know how advertising works, how OOH media work. We decided to use their power for an educational, inspirational action for the environment. Oh, wait. Is it really for the environment, or for our own, us - humans? If it weren't for us, would the reason to panic be just as great?

We invited blogger Ewelina Ulanicka (@ewelina.ulanicka), Green Projects, an eco-exciting blog about ecology, environmental protection, and being eco, the Future Cities Foundation, the Climate Coalition, Entuzjastki, photographer Witek Ziomek, and activist Tomek Morozgalski (@generalnie.to) to collaborate.

Eco-pop, Reflection, and Sensitivity

Our goal was to approach the topic of the environment in a way that avoids eco-pop, but also doesn't touch upon abstract topics whose scale and decision-making level are frightening or discouraging. We know that turning off the water while brushing teeth and choosing a shower instead of a bath won't save Poland from drought. But we also know that it's about reflection and sensitivity. Even the longest journey begins with the first step, so let's start with the small things, because who knows where we'll end up at the end of the day?

Meet the People and Places

Earth Lover: Ewelina Ulanicka, a civil engineer and sustainable construction consultant, certifies new buildings and educates on how to live in harmony with the environment. She runs a world-sensitive blog on Instagram. Her motto is: Come and #lovetheearth with ease! Are you Earth lovers? You absolutely must meet Ewelina.

The Future Cities Foundation https://miasta-przyszlosci.pl/ works for the friendly development of urban spaces: it promotes residents' health and ecological solutions in construction. Here you will find inspirations that can make cities more comfortable, healthier, simpler, and better places to live.

The Climate Coalition brings together 24 organizations committed to climate protection, with various profiles, from research to education. The Coalition monitors the legal situation, educates, and lobbies. Its mission is to convince, especially key decision-makers, to limit negative environmental impact.

With Entuzjastki, we share the conviction that the world of the future is a world of good relationships. We strive to maintain such relationships.
But what do our relationships with the environment look like?

Witold Ziomek, photographer of earthly - unearthly landscapes. Witold comes from Krakow, travels the world, and photographs what he sees.
For this project, he chose water photos, and you may have already seen his other photographs on MORE.

Tomasz Morozgalski, urban activist, Instagrammer (@wolnazielen, @generalnie.to), social activist. On Instagram, he talks about nature, the climate crisis, and methods to counteract its effects. You can meet Tomek at civic tree counting actions, discussions about tree felling during Warsaw District Council sessions, and http://generalnie.to protests of the Youth Climate Strike.

Diverse and Colorful

It's true that without systemic changes, we won't stop climate change. But we believe that environmental education is important and necessary. That building habits, sharing inspirations, and talking about important things are needed. After all, that's a characteristic of advertising language: persuasion, urging, convincing. We've prepared a series of guides with the simplest things to do at home and delved into literature.
We've mixed information, places, people, and styles.
And it's diverse and colorful. Just like in nature.
