On Jet Line Screens: Chip in for the Polish Bayraktar!
A fundraiser for a Bayraktar for Ukraine, initiated by Sławomir Sierakowski, is ongoing. 156,291 people have already donated over 17 million zlotys. This is already a very large amount, but 22,500,000 is needed. Since last Friday, on Jet Line's MORE and DTC screens, we've been encouraging: chip in for the Polish Bayraktar. The portal zrzutka.pl has waived its commission, everything goes toward purchasing the Bayraktar: https://zrzutka.pl/bayraktar
I'm writing this text on July 19, if I'm counting correctly - on the 146th day of the war in Ukraine. In a few more days, it will be 5 months since Thursday, February 24, when we learned about the next stage of the Russian invasion. I remember that day very well: in the morning I went for a walk with my dog, put on headphones and turned on the radio on my phone. At 7:03 I sent a message to Ola and Martyna to prepare the Ukrainian flag for the screens as early as possible. A few minutes after 9:00 we were already displaying it.
This was the first symbolic gesture, made by many people, companies and institutions, including all the largest out-of-home companies. Outdoor is a mass medium, reaching everyone who is outside, regardless of their beliefs, habits, and choices. Out-of-home messages in digital form can appear on the streets very quickly, and this is a feature that cannot be overestimated in emergency situations.
Blue and yellow flags immediately appeared in the city, and in people - everything at once. Anger, fear, disbelief, terror, mobilization, solidarity. I think most of us, so-called ordinary people, thought it would last a few days, because it simply couldn't last longer. In Europe? In the 21st century? After all, there are agreements, pacts, businesses, summits and visits, friendly back-patting by gentlemen who think they can do anything... Naivety and hope for someone coming to their senses - though I don't know whose - was great, at least in me. Then came another thought: no, someone from the Russian authorities will end this. They will end it, for sure. Sanctions will come, pressure, diplomacy, pressure, interviews, and they'll calculate, see, come to their senses, understand.
Meanwhile, It's the 146th Day of the War.
During these 146 days, there were only a few when there wasn't information on Jet Line screens about people from Ukraine and people from Poland, about help and places where it can be obtained. Actions were initiated by us, by our Clients and Friends: hey, we want to help others, help us tell about it.
