On Jet Line Screens: Grandma. Woman.
We were supposed to show the "Paweł's Grandma" project on January 21st, for Grandparents' Day. Because there's no better date, right?
Well, there is.
When sometimes something happens that disrupts the plan and leaves you unsatisfied, wait and see if in a moment you won't say to yourself: "You know what? It's very good that it happened this way." Because you know what, it's very good that it happened this way.
It turned out there's an even better date.
In March, on Women's Day, we give space to older women with a sparkle in their eyes, gentleness and wisdom.
The author of the photography series and "Paweł's Grandma" project is Monika Pazik, who captured in photos a world and femininity that are fading into oblivion.

Meet them.
Czesława. Ewa. Helena. Henryka. Julia. Maria. Weronika. Wiktoria. Zofia.

"The project <<Paweł's Grandma>> is my return to myself. I photograph Grandmas (not all of them are formally Grandmas), women in whom I find my Grandma Paweł in fractions of seconds. One is her in the look, another in the way of being silent, yet another in the yeast cake prepared for my visit.
These Grandmas won't be here in some time. There won't be old, winter coats and fruit soups with homemade pasta. The sensitivity to the world that remembers war and walks through nettles for health will be gone. There won't be that unique connection that protects from disappearing, from complete erasure of childhood.
That's why I now portrait Grandmas. To preserve them, to remember them. For everything I received, I can do this much: record them in the memory of the internet" – writes Monika Pazik about this unique and undoubtedly very emotional project.
