On Jet Line Screens: Public Property

Public property. What's common.
Do you know the value of what can be counted and is shared?

"What sets us apart is important, but what unites us is also important. And what unites us is everything we've managed to build “– say the creators of the majatekpubliczny.pl website
Get to know the "Public Property" project”, conceived by Jędrzej Malko, a teacher, historian of ideas, author of books, and coordinator of the journalistic project "Spięcie “.
"Public Property” is run by a group of economists proposing a way of conducting public debate that echoes concern for what is common. To bring more facts, awareness, and responsibility, less fear and misunderstanding.

In Poland, the discussion about public finances focuses almost exclusively on public debt. While this is an important topic, it's worth discussing it in the right context. The economists initiating the action point out that public debt has a completely different nature from private credit, and when wisely used, it can serve future generations. A state investment in education or healthcare is something completely different from a private car loan. We should therefore look at both sides of the common balance sheet: not only the debt but also the assets.

"When we forget how much we have, it becomes easier to stop taking care of it. And yet, great wealth means great responsibility. Responsibility to wisely manage what is common. Not to squander it, to preserve it for future generations. It's worth remembering that as a community, we have something to take care of."
