Share Knowledge and Experience
There's always a good time for inspiration. There's always a good time to exchange ideas, experiences, and positive energy. If you're invited to participate in a Business Mixer connecting both new and experienced entrepreneurs, we strongly encourage you: take part in it.
Even on December 21st in the afternoon, when you might think it's only time for borscht and dumplings.
On December 21st at 3:00 PM at Warsaw Workshop at Constitution Square 4, together with Radek Miklaszewski from SynchroLAB, we participated in a meeting with people who want to launch social enterprises.
The Business Mixer was organized by the Foundation for Social and Economic Initiatives and BORIS Association and the CEOs-Volunteers Coalition, of which Michał Ciundziewicki, CEO of Jet Line, is a member.
We were part of an active audience, whose task was first to listen to a 5-minute presentation from each entrepreneur, and then spend 10 minutes providing feedback on their social business ideas.
What is a social economy enterprise? It's an entity that operates almost like any other company. Almost – because it doesn't operate for maximum profit for shareholders or owners. It allocates its profits to social causes. Such goals include, for example, professional activation of people outside the labor market or local community development.
We heard three different stories, with three different goals in three different areas of operation.
Each idea was very ambitious. Each was interesting and had potential. We're rooting for all of them and are extremely curious about how their journeys will unfold.
One particularly stayed with me, though according to Radek, a completely different one had the best chances.
We don't know how these enterprises will fare and what they'll take from our various pieces of advice. Maybe the marketing approach in one case, or even the name in another
(10 minutes of constructive criticism and brainstorming seemingly produced the perfect name – isn't that a great Christmas gift?)
A meeting full of energy, ideas, and people with passion and heart.
Once again, we were reminded with pure, simple pleasure that good communication is fundamental. Conversation, openness, kindness, and attentiveness - these are needed in every business, at every stage.
It was a great pleasure to meet with you all. Happy New Year!
