Road Traffic - COVID 1:0
Road traffic is a serious matter, and serious reports are being produced about it. However, anyone who went out of town for the June long weekend felt, without needing a report, that getting stuck in traffic was no longer an event.
Let's compare the traffic intensity values for three June long weekends: 2019, 2020, and 2021.
Passenger traffic volume in 2021 increased by 12% compared to 2020.
The highest bar (June 2019) is attributed to the long weekend and the simultaneous end of the school year. Naturally, traffic was 8% higher; we were leaving not only for the weekend but also for longer holidays. If we consider the average weekly traffic in June 2019 and the long weekend in June 2021, we will notice a 1% increase in the current year.
Important indicators also include heavy vehicle traffic data.
Between 2019 and 2021, we observe a 4% increase in traffic intensity. These are very optimistic data, indicating a good economic condition.
