Good Practices
Are you familiar with the Responsible Business Forum publication "Responsible Business in Poland. Good Practices"? You certainly are if responsible and engaged business issues are within your area of interest. If you haven't seen the report yet, I invite you to check it out. In the report, you will also find Jet Line initiatives.
This year's report includes three of our activities:
- an internship program that we launched in the summer of 2015 (area: Social engagement and local community development -> creating jobs and skills development)
We created two job positions for interns interested in working in media and advertising agencies.
The internships lasted for three months and were paid.
We hope that Karolina and Damian learned a lot from us, because for us – the company – these were important months.
- employee volunteering (area: Labor practices)
We launched a program that goes beyond our foundation and sailing. Many of us are involved in Explorers' Cruises, but we wanted everyone to be able to help others if they wish, in any way they choose.
- Explorers' Cruise Foundation – as a long-term program;
The Explorers' Cruise Foundation, established in January 2013, helps young people stay on the right course. By organizing offshore cruises, we share our passion and teach work, cooperation, and responsibility.
The FOB report is the largest browser of initiatives undertaken by companies in Poland
focusing on seven areas: internal organizational culture, human rights, environment, employee issues, consumer issues, market issues, and social engagement and local community development.
The report is prepared annually and presents initiatives undertaken by companies in the previous year. Among the 454 new examples of interesting, engaged activities, you may find those from your company, from a company you're friendly with or competing with, you may find inspiration for your own activities, or perhaps you'll join the report next year? Meanwhile, 359 long-term initiatives and programs show how interestingly companies plan and develop their engagement decisions and in how many different things, in how many different ways, one can get involved.
The 14th report, published in 2016 for 2015, contains 813 company activities – 813 examples of good practices, which is the largest collection to date. This may mean that more companies are reporting their good practices, or perhaps more companies are undertaking them. Since among these 813 examples there are 359 long-term activities that began before 2015 and were described in earlier reports, it may mean – as emphasized by Marzena Strzelczak, Director General of the Responsible Business Forum – that Polish CSR is maturing, becoming more professional, and seeing the sense in planning and long-term policy.
